The problem with our ST205 is that the flat 4 is mounted horizontally.
Ive heard of v6 implants but is it possible to do a V8? Think about it. Its about the same length as a straight 4, being 4 and 4 cyliners parallel just much wider meaning when mounted sideways, its fuller towards the fire wall and rad. So if so I could imagine relocating the rad further beyond the slam panel and it could work. Now what V8 made by toyota that can mate up with the E145 gearbox? Sorry, I'm a realist. If you want mid engine high HP AWD, go buy a retired Group B rally car. If you want a V8 AWD, go buy an old Volvo S80.
Here's what's going to happen, as I've seen it time and time again. Everyone is going to jump up and down and clap their hands. This thread will stay active for maybe 2 weeks tops, then will fall down into the depths of the forums, getting bumped once in a while. In a few months I'll come and bump it asking for updates and the OP will never give them because there are none to give because this project is nothing more than a wet dream. We've all had them, sometimes we've made threads about them. Then reality sets in. I wanted a 7A-GE in my Corolla. Wasn't feasbile. Even though the 7A-GE has been built numerous times it's still not a feasible engine for 90% of Celica/Corolla owners because of the cost of the parts and random weird custom bits needed like timing belts from a Porsche that must be changed every 30K miles or the custom exhaust work, mounts, ecm tuning, wiring, etc. AND THIS IS A PROJECT THAT'S BEEN DONE and documented before. He's off into lala-dream land there with this one. It's akin to saying that you're going to put a piercing through your left kidney, other people have piercings and it's all just flesh right? No, there are serious technical and safety hurdles. As I said, to do this correctly he's looking to build a race car tube chassis and just plaster the 6GC body on the outside as decoration. As a business venture it's a piss poor investment, the money sunk into it will never be recouped, as a personal venture it's an irresponsible use of the business resources which should be invested towards turning a profit and not a wet dream car project. Argue all you want, my prediction will come true as I've seen it hundreds of times on dozens of forums. -------------------- |
