Hey guys I upgraded my speakers with pioneers, 1 inch tweeters are still stock, the 4 inch top speaker on door are pioneers, 6.5 in back are pioneers. I just ordered 8 inch 400 or 450 watt 8 inch speakers, the speakers weren't a problem at all, now I want to do a double din pioneer head unit, I need to know if I have to buy the plastic for it to go in like a single head unit needs... The celica 8 speaker runs on 2 amps, I found the metra adaptor for the amps to be used te double din head unit I will be using has 2 RCA plugs the adaptor has 4 I need all 8 speakers to work so I need install help I found a forum with info but want to wire everything perfectly and need to know if the head unit I'm buying has 2 and the adaptor has four if it will work or not thanks any feedback will help

Well I just got mine wired up!
It's simple once you figure it all out.
The adapter has 2 sets of RCA's. One for the front and one for the rear.
You have to find the Front and Rear LEFT channel and plug those into a Y connector. That Y connector plugs into the Front Left RCA output.
Same thing goes for the right side. You take the Front and Rear RIGHT channels and plug them into a Y connector. Then plug them into the Front Right RCA output.
(You lose the front and rear fader, but no one uses that anyway.)

Most radios come with 2 sets of RCA preamp outputs, and it has a front output and a rear / sub output.
I tried to get the rear / sub to work properly on mine, but there was only bass from the speakers, no high or mids.
That's why I used the Y connector so that everything is coming out the front RCA outputs, it gives you the full range.

Also, there is a red wire and yellow wire on that adapter piece you just bought and on the wire clip from the radio.
As you know, you'll splice them together, but you'll need to add a third wire to each one.
The 3rd wire for the red wire (which is the Acc wire) will need to get spliced into the Grey wire that goes to the cigarette lighter.
The 3rd wire for the yellow wire (which is the constant) will need to get spliced into the Blue / White wire that goes to the clock.

I'm not sure why, but if you don't add that 3rd wire into both wires, the radio will not turn on at all.

And I have to fix a ground issue because I'm getting wines with the RPM's. I'll have to figure that out tomorrow.
