Hey All,
I recently purchased another Celica and unlike my 94 ST, this 99 GT has remote locks (Thank God!). The fob works fine for the locks and it is the stock security system with the stock remote, however the aux button that usually is a power trunk release doesn't seem to work. The button is worn a bit so I assume the previous owner used it for something, but I don't notice it doing anything. The power antenna on this vehicle does not work either. Could this lead to the hatch not lifting? I vaguely remember reading something that said that the solenoid to pop the hatch could use the power from the antenna. As a complete and utter novice to wiring and electrical tasks, I was wondering what I should be checking/fixing so that I can get the fob to open my hatch. Could it be something as simple as a fuse, or is it more involved? Thanks for your help! |

Actually my 99 GT fob has TDS on the side... but came on the Celica as new installed. My other 98 Camry came with the same remote as well.
