That they only come on when the engine is on. Not in ignition because I dont want any power drain on start up.

Radio loses power during crank...I think. Wire it to that.
I don't see the issue though, DLRs are like what 16watts? That's like 2.6amps for both tops. Edit: Special Eddy- All the lights stay on. At least in the '95 they did. My radio is the only thing that shuts off that I know of. But then again its not like I sit there and hold in on start for a minute so I'm not really sure
