That they only come on when the engine is on. Not in ignition because I dont want any power drain on start up.

If he's using LED DLR's the power draw will be menial though. Hell, even halogen DLR's wouldn't be that bad. Though if you could find the wire that azian spoke of that'd be ideal. Use that to power a relay to turn the DLR's on and off.
