Can the stock shock absorbers handle -35-40mm lowering?

Honestly, you're better off going coilovers. By the time you do springs, struts, and the mounts, you're going to be just shy of the price of coilovers. When I did mine, i put s techs on stock struts, then 4 months later had to replace the struts and mounts (mounts were just old, not worn from lowering) and it was close ot the cost of coilovers.
