 Increasing Horsepower/Torque in 5sfe? |

Hi everybody,
I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to tuning engines to increase speed/horsepower. I have a 94 Celica GT with a 5sfe engine. I want to increase the power but I'm not looking for power that a turbo or supercharger would give. I just want to increase the horsepower by as much possible without turning to a turbo or supercharger. Basically. I just want the Celica to run a bit faster. So my question is: What do I need in order to increase the horsepower/torque of my 5sfe engine without looking into turbos or superchargers? If I'm going to spend a couple thousand, then I rather do an engine swap and get turbo. I'm just looking to see how I can increase the power without doing too much modifications. I don't want to mess up the engine. I'm looking for the basics that won't require me to change the cams. I'm interested in installing headers, an air intake, and exhaust but I'm not sure the engine can handle any of those mods. |
