Hey guys, I am looking to swap a FWD 3S-GTE into ST Celica (7A-FE). I was wondering if anybody has ever done it here, and if anyone has any information. I've roughly estimated between 5-6K dollars for it. I'm told I need the GT (5S-FE) motor mounts in order for the engine to fit in my car. I would also need a MAF sensor and an ignitor chip (those are the only two things the engine I found doesn't come with) I'd like to have a Front Mount InterCooler so I know that would cost me about 500 or so dollars. I'm also told I'd need a custon driveshaft and custom axles made. Can anyone verify that and help me out with some information? Thanks alot.

I did it and am basically done...
You really don't need custom axels unless you want them stronger. And um....for everything else it depends on what engine you got, mileage, if you have a manual. Basically the hardest part is the wiring and trouble shooting. Now, you really can just look up and do a search for a 3SGTE swap on the forum and you will find everything else. The main difference from doing a GT and ST is that the ST needs a S series tranny and GT motor mounts. Just do a search.... |
