Hey! I'm new here so this is kinda a saying hello post and asking for advise. I have a 94 celica gt-s and lately as my motor as been gaining kilometers (I'm Canadian) I have been thinking about rebuilding the engine but I've always wanted more power so I've been researching motor swaps. So i'm wondering what would be my best option. 3S-GE? or the 3S-GTE? I was told the AWD motor can be fwd all i needed was a MR2 tranny and drive shaft? I'm not sure how true that is so I'm asking what i should do! Would the red top 3S-GE be noticeable from the 2.2 in mine already? I'm pretty sure it has the 5S-FE.

Engines are not fwd or AWD. That's dependent on the transmission. Yes, you can very easily bolt up a FWD transmission to a 3S-GTE. You can pull off a BEAMS swap for $2,000-2,500 where a 3S-GTE can cost $4,000-6,000.

The BEAMS out of the Celica and MR2 are different though. redface.gif
