I think my celica is not very well atm, this is my problem if anyone could help me. Everytime I get out of the car after I have driven her I get a strong smell of petrol and it seems to go through a lot of fuel even if I drive like a granny but I cant see any leaks. It is a GT4 95* model. any help would be great cheers |

There is no choke on a fuel injection system. The fuel system is a closed system so if you're smelling fuel, you have a leak somewhere.

There is no choke on a fuel injection system. The fuel system is a closed system so if you're smelling fuel, you have a leak somewhere. Weird though that mine never had a leak >.< But as soon as the fuel filter and canister were changed, the smell disappeared... EFI cars may not have an exact choke, but they do run rich for the first ten or so minutes of running, and they idle higher too... Basically, this is the same as what a choke would do on a carby anyway... -------------------- ![]() ------------------------------| White '94 Celica | Bought 11/05/12 | Sold 12/05/15 |------------------------------ |
