hi guys n girls
I think my celica is not very well atm, this is my problem if anyone could help me. Everytime I get out of the car after I have driven her I get a strong smell of petrol and it seems to go through a lot of fuel even if I drive like a granny but I cant see any leaks. It is a GT4 95* model. any help would be great cheers |

With a 95, the ECU simply dumps more fuel through the injectors on a cold start -- older Celicas utilized a separate cold start fuel injector rather than a variable fuel map.
There's no separate choke in modern EFI systems, so it won't be that easy. Unfortunately with fuel smells, you pretty much have to start at one end of the system and work your way to the other looking for leaks. The injectors and their O-rings are a good place to start, as they are the most stressed part of the fuel system. |
