How do you install airbags?
My car is a 97 celica LE with airbags that have blown. Someone rear ended my car and I was pushed into the car infront. All the damage done was a shattered windshield and a cracked bumper. Anyways, long story short, I want to reinstall the driver and passanger airbags into my car, what do i need to do? (airbag computor? The airbag light?) Anyone know, thanks in advance> |

When I wrecked my 1st Celica I was told that you have to replace everything.
driver airbag-$578.45 passenger airbag-$587.17 passenger airbag door-$84.20 clockspring-$221.29 center sensor(under your center console)$383.95 2 front sensors(on each side of the radiator support connected with the big yellow cables which you can't miss)$54.79 each for a total of $109.58 DAMN and thats just the price to get them ![]() As far as how to replace them, I have no clue on the airbags themselves. The estimate I got showed .3 hrs for the drivers airbag, 4.6 hrs for the passenger airbag, and .7 hrs for the center sensor. They did'nt list the rest because they were figured into the front end damage. I would suggest you go check with a body shop and see if they will replace them for you, and also see if they will let you put in used parts.Alot of shops won't install used airbags, sensors, etc, because of liability issues. Airbag systems are dangerous to install if you don't know what you are doing, so be careful or let someone else do it. -------------------- ![]() |
