Just a Heads up, if you are messaged by him saying he has parts you posted in a WTB thread I highly suggest not talking to him. its been over 3 months and I have not received the part I asked for, nor did I get the money back when I asked and he never replies to any messages.

I always look at it, if buying something on the internet, be prepared to lose the money.
Out of the 480 dealings my dad has done on eBay, he has been burned twice, of those two, only one he actually lost the money. Both eBay and PayPal do not really care if you lose your money or not, there is no real protection for either party and it's pretty easy to bypass they "security" when a seller anyway...
