as I peruse the ignition coil section of the parts catalog I begin to wonder, Just how much coil do you need for a stock setup?
I imagine that the really cheap are probably really cheaply made, and I could believe the ones that are about $60 are a higher quality. But the top of the line ones are like $100 more. yikes. So how much coil do you really need, or can you actually put to use on a stock motor? (5s-fe) and I have federal emission setup with coil in the dist cap. I imagine that maybe the turbo charged ones could use more so if you check www.rockauto.com , at least under the 94 2.2 you can choose from Ultrapower for $20 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.p...&cc=1274307 Standard Motor for $37 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.p...&cc=1274307 Delphi for $55 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.p...&cc=1274307 AC Delco for $63 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.p...&cc=1274307 And then the Bosh coil is $130 WTF? http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.p...&cc=1274307 So how much coil can you actually get performance from with a stock 2.2L? -------------------- Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.

pretty much what I'd guessed, but I figure the $20 one is made by 16yo girls in Indonesia for $0.05 a day.
which is enough reason to get the $40 one -------------------- Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.
