I've been slowly building an emergency kit for my trunk.

Bought one of these at a local military surplus shop for $20, forget the brand, but I stashed it into the emergency car-jack area in the trunk

I have a cookie tin can filled with wind-proof matches, an emergency poncho (one that keeps thermal energy from escaping), wind-proof flint firestarter, 8-hr teapot candles

Some spare cloth bags from my work, as well as some thicker plastic bags.

Emergency blanket, roll of paper towels

Toolbox consisting of 10,12,17mm sockets, small & medium ratchets, scissors, duct tape, scotch tape, a few various screw-drivers, a mini-butane torch that uses BIC lighters for fuel,

Breaker bar, 1/2" torque wrench

Ah yes, and my snow brush, which I purchased a couple months ago, then regretted it since it snows here maybe once or twice a year, but it's snowed 3~4 inches over the past two nights (which is a lot for here). I was just hanging on to my east-coast life by purchasing/having this brush, and I wish I could advocate safe snow practices here for drivers, but I know that won't happen.
