How often does this need changing ???
Have you guys done it if so how much did you pay for the change?

this is where all the sticky threads are for maintenance.
for the most part the timing belt should be replaced about every 100k miles.
though some of the early 5sfe specs say to change it every 60,000 miles.
and when you take it apart you should be sure to replace the timing belt, tensioner and idler pulleys, and the tensioner spring, along with the water pump.

I'm not sure but I would guess a shop would charge 6-8 hours of labor for the job. so guess $75-90 an hour for labor, and list price for the parts maybe another $200.
I went to rockauto.com and ordered a kit with all the parts for $65 and put it on myself. ...it took me a bit longer than 8 hours though, and had to take it back apart again after the first time until I got it right. but it's a good bonding experience with the machine
