Debating if i should purchase a mk3 supra or not, been reading the forums and gathering info for the last couple months. Now im actually searching for one that can meet the criteria i have. Any one here have any input on them, besides the whole 1-2jz - 7m swap

Then your yards suck, the ones near me sell per cylinder. So a 70's Ford V8 costs just as much as a 00's BMW V8. I don't see the point in the 1JZ, might as well go 2JZ. That'd be like using a 5M instead of a 7M. Or in American a 305 instead of a 350.
 The 2JZ-GE internals are strong enough for anything you'd want on the street. Though honestly if going through the trouble of swapping I'd just go the 1UZ route as it weighs less and moves the center of gravity towards the center of the car. Plenty of potential if the 250-300 hp isn't enough for you.
