1.8 7AFE TURBO??, "how-to" Options

I remember hearing that someone was going to do a write up on turboing this engine! Is it going to happen?? How much?? When will it be posted?? Anyone?

I just priced the materials for my exhaust today.....wow. Its going to cost me just over $600 in materials for the entire exhaust from the turbo back. Its going to be completely 304 stainless mandrel bends and high quality size transitions. The turbine outlet is 2 1/8 with a 4" long megaphone transition up to 3" followed by a 90deg bend to go down the side of the motor. I'll be CNC machining the turbo flange out of 1/2" stainless. That bitch is never going to leak! I'll also be using V-band clamps instead of flanges for all the connections. The wastegate tubing is 1 3/8 IIRC and will re-enter the main exhaust stream somewhere towards the bottom of the car. I decided the divorced wastegate would be too loud. I can always build some flanges and blockoff plates later to make it divorced for track days or whatever.
