Hi everyone, I was an idiot today and snapped one of the oil pan bolts on my 1994 ST. The bolt head sheared off at the pan leaving nothing to grab onto to remove the broken shank. Short of removing the whole pan and getting the bolt out that way, what would you guys recommend?

Drill out the center of the bolt and use an extractor tool. It will screw into the hole reverse threaded, so eventually it bottoms out and starts to turn the bolt counterclockwise
My oil dipstick tube was snapped off in the block, I got it out like a piece of cake with an extractor and that thing is a bear to get out even when it isnt broken off in the block This post has been edited by Special_Edy: May 15, 2014 - 3:11 PM |
