Just showing off my ''new'' Celica ST Limited Edition named "Black Judy". I named it Black Beauty and kept rubbing it in my wife's face (she has a black 323i) but then I slipped up and said 'Judy' instead of 'Beauty'...I will never hear the end of it..
ANYWAYS.. I just picked up a 97 ST 5spd with 149,000 miles. Black on black, with Black and polished MB Alpina wheels (not really a fan of), no name headers, no name CAI, and a Pioneer DVD player. I just did my first oil and spark plug change, and I noticed that I have a pretty awesome oil leak. I haven't been able to pin point it exactly but I have not been losing any oil according to my dip stick. Also, I have two torn CV boots. How hard will these be to change. I still have to pick up a Haynes manual but I plan on doing them myself. This is my first FWD compact car. I sold my 4runner for something that was more fuel efficient. I love the car so far but I want to knock out the maintenance so I can get into making it more fun to drive. http://s1153.photobucket.com/user/eastersj...b0aff8.jpg.html http://s1153.photobucket.com/user/eastersj...f561d2.jpg.html http://s1153.photobucket.com/user/eastersj...e260c6.jpg.html http://s1153.photobucket.com/user/eastersj...a5599c.jpg.html |

Welcome to the family!
Very nice car - black, clean, and an LE. As for the CV boots, generally, most of us just replace the axle when the boot tears - a set of axles would be about 115 shipped from RockAuto; here's the how-to for CV axle replacement. Depending on the tools that you have, the job is about a 5 out of 10 in difficulty, IMHO - I did it using only basic hand tools (ratchets, breaker bar, sockets, screwdrivers, PB blaster) over the course of a day. Also, I'll keep you in mind when we have our next NC meet - the more 6gc members in the Carolinas the better! -------------------- Has no more Celicas
