Hi guys

I've got a 95 SSII with a nackered lower engine mount. I've read loads of threads on the poly inserts which as far as i can tell all came from america & to the best of my knowledge, none of the american 6th gen celicas came with the 3SGE engine (please correct me if i'm wrong on that)

The threads all talk about some mounts being similar but nobody seems to say for sure whether the SS2 mounts are the same as any of the UK models

(toyota want 80 quid plus vat for a genuine one, with a 2 month wait for delivery - i could do with getting 5th gear back sooner than that biggrin.gif )

so i'm trying to find out, has anyone else dealt with sloppy engine mounts on an ss2 and what was your solution?

incidentally i want to fill mine with window weld since everyone reckons its the business, but i could really do without having it off the road for the 24 hours+ that this will take to cure so unless a uk spec mount is the same & cheaper, then i intend to get a scrap mount, fill that & then do the swap to keep my car on the road in the meantime, just need to know which ones i can & cant buy from ebay

any other advice/offer of spare parts is welcomed biggrin.gif

cheers in advance

if you have an s54 transmission then yes its the same as our american gt transmission. the e56 found in ss-2 celica are very rare. its a huge old bulky transmission heavy indeed and there is no way you can mistake its looks for an s54 which is found in 95% of all ss-II celica's
