Sorry if this posting is placed on the wrong forum.
I'm not at all clear about what parts on the various 6G Celicas can be interchanged. From a junkyard, I took home a radiator from a 95 Celica, intending to use it in my 94 Celica. When I examined this radiator after getting home, I found that there are two nipples at the bottom that don't exist on the radiator of my 94. I'm not sure but think the junkyard 95 Celica was a GT (it had a hatchback and spoiler), and might have had an automatic transmission while mine is a 94 ST Celica (1.8 L) manual transmission. There is a radiator hose going into my radiator, and a radiator hose coming out of my radiator, plus another small hose going to the coolant reservoir, and that is all. From the two metal nipples at the bottom of the extracted radiator came a significant amount of dark reddish oily liquid that looks like automatic transmission fluid to me. QUESTION: Would I be able to use this new radiator if I don't connect anything up to the extra nipples? Here is a picture of the junkyard radiator: ![]() QUESTION: Is there any general guidance on this website about interchangeable parts within the various 6G Celicas? |

Forgot to ask:
Can a GT radiator be used in a ST? If water hoses were re-routed? Your photos show ST is small and GT is larger, but are they so different in reality? I'm trying to learn how interchangeable typical parts are across the 94-99 years, and across ST, GT, etc., and if there is information along this line of thinking stored somwhhere on this website? |

Yes you could use the ST radiator, the problem will be routing a universal radiator hose around the catalytic converter manifold and then negotiating the 90degree bend to connect to the radiator. |

So, it's not a practical solution, but could be done in theory? I like the way you explain things so I see the problems, SpecialEdy. TX |
