 Car won't go into gear |

So today when I was going to leave work, I went to go put my car into reverse but it wouldn't go in. Huh. Tried all the gears and nothing, then I tried forcing it into first and it made a crazy loud grinding sound that my coworker could hear from his car with the windows up. Still didn't go in. Tried reverse again, and it would go in with some force but it grinded like crazy. I finally decided to just leave the car at work for the weekend and grab one of the work cars. Pushed my car into the compound, tried putting it into gear again and it finally went into reverse and everything just seemed to "pop" back into place, and suddenly everything was fine. I left it there and took the work car anyways just to be safe. Anybody have any clue what could be going on?

I'm not all that knowledgeable with clutches so I'll have a look at those things tomorrow when I get a chance. Not sure what kind of fluid is in there but it hasn't been changed as long as I've owned the car, as far as I know. The weather has started to get quite a bit colder, it's been around 15°C (~60°F) for about the last week now. I didn't seem to notice this problem last year in the cold though.
