I've seriously been looking into saving up for one of these engines, but in addition to the enormous price (all of which I would have to pay for off $8.50 an hour for now), I don't know if it's going to pass smog in California, because we got it pretty strict here.
Anyone around here who has one know? I don't wanna be an idiot and invest all this money into an engine that I won't even be able to run legally; it would be a pain to have to add on to the cost of the swap, just to get it to pass smog. |

The swap is not legal, never will be, and cant be made to be, in any state. Us californians have to bribe people to get it passed. The JDM engines are missing an EGR valve system, which is a big piece of the emisions system. It can not be added, the engine has to be made with the EGR valve.
Secondly, try searching! |
