Hypothetical discussion here (and I tried using the search so bugger off)
What does the best and brightest think about engine performance if you drop the turbo off a 3SGTE? Assume you can boost the compression ratio easily enough and you assume you can run a stand alone ECU (something open source, mega squirt, angry hamster + wheel)? -------------------- -Mike

I have no doubt the BEAMS is a better option. To answer the "WHY", it is the perceived lack of part availability for an engine that was never supported by the USDM. As someone who might have to have two or three sets of everything - availability and the price of those parts becomes interesting to me. I don't know a lot about the BEAMS configuration so I don't really know what is interchangeable with parts that are immediately available in the US...
