My head is off. I have purchased delta cams 264 weld and grind. The guy at Delta said I have to adjust my valves and tighten the lash. He says 0.006 thou on the intake and 0.008 on the exhaust side. He said I have to either lap the valves more or grind the valve stems to compensate for the difference. My new valves are .015 -.005 thou short.
Should I bolt the cams onto the head or can I just rest them on top and check the clearance between the lifters and the cam lobes? Will I need to remove the valve springs? I'm doing this all backwards, I just spent two hours putting the valve springs back in with needle nose pliers. Is there another way?? -------------------- |
