Hey guys,

A long time ago i went Yokohama V4S 205-55-15 tires. They were great tires and lasted me 8 years and 120k miles. I rotate every 2 oil changes and i run Neg 2 camber front and neg 1 in the back.

Its that time where my tires are near slicks bald. I go to find the same tires again and Yokohama no longer makes V4S in 205-55-15. In fact it shows the V4S was replaced by the Envigor which isnt available in 205-55-15. Yokohama now has S-Drive in 205-55-15 anyone runs these? Other then this i almost have no other choices in 205-55-15 .. even the tire shop said i have an oddball tire size

If i step it down to a 205-50-15 i have a huge list of nice performance tires. my problem is the S54 tranny has such short gear ratios going down a little makes my RPM even high for highway use.

If i go up to 205-60-15 i get all these tires with soft side walls which reduces steering response

What tires do you guys like and hows your experience with them?

I'm in the same boat. I found Kumho Ecsta and some Dunlops on tirerack.com and discounttire.com so check those sites out but i prefer the Yokahomas. Very good tires. Just our tire size sucks. Can't even find these size tires used anywhere..

after shopping around for something to replace 205-55-15. I found many nice tires in 205-50-15. Using those will give faster acceleration, better response, and a more harsh ride. Then you have to worry about the short gearing for highway use, because your rpm will be even higher at 70mph. There are many nice tires in 205-60-15. Using these will have a slower acceleration, sluggish response, and more comfortable ride. At 70mph your RPM will be lower allowing you to save gas.

If i stay at 205-55-15 i have about 4 options non which i like. My car is a daily car. 300 tread wear can wear very fast. I wanted something better for the commute yet delivers performance if i need it. I absolutely loved my Yokohama v4s but they replaced it with the Avid ENVigor. Its supposed the updated version of the v4s but they dont make it in 205-55-15

So i think im going to try 205-60-15 Avid ENVigor ...my car is pretty low...the extra sidewall can bring it up a lil bit too
