Hey yall. So I got my Celica from a junk yard in Germany, because I live here. And the engine is garbage. I also cane afford to import an engine from Japan or any of that, so my other alternative is to get an engine from the yard. I found a Toyota Paseo and the guy says the engine and tranny are good, but I need to know if the 5efe with bolt up to my Celica mount locations. The Paseo is a 1993 and im also getting the tranny from it. Has anyone done this swap before? will it work? Thanks

Nope, and if you did it'd be a giant slow piece of crap. You need to stay with the S series of engines, so either another 3S or something like the 5S which came in the Celica over here along with cars like the Camry. Even being a direct bolt in that still leaves redoing the ECU and wiring. Easiest thing would be to replace with an identical engine or rebuild if it's salvageable.
