Hi,

I am building a 1979 Toyota Corolla Sr Coupe with a gen 2 3sgte in it. Things that I have done to date on the engine include: Oil return lines from the head as it sits vertically, oil pick up and sump modifications, new intake plenum, new top mount exhaust manifold, big top mounted fuel rail, currently have 565cc injectors, front mounted intercooler, Link G4 Storm computer, drop tank in the rear with surge tank, bigger fuel pump, and a couple other small bits and pieces.

Car will be mainly for street, with some track days here and there.

I have got this far and am now looking at the ct26 turbo and thinking I should get something a little better. My power goals are as much as possible (so around 300rwhp from what I have read) without opening up the engine and spending large amounts of $$ putting in forged components- not yet anyway.
So my question is where do you recommend I go with the turbo? I dont have thousands to fork out for something special at the moment so am thinking of making an OEM turbo work. Im currently considering a td05 off of an evo 3. Its cheap, apparently goes very well and can be upgraded. Wanted a twin scroll evo 4+ turbo but getting one to mount up would be a nightmare. TD05 the right track or maybe a td06?
Cant get my hands on a ct20b- never even seen one for sale, so please dont suggest that.

I am yet to make a downpipe and my exhaust manifold can be modified- so not to worried about different flanges etc..

Thanks

Ive got a w58 gearbox with a modified bell housing and short shift kit, big custom made driveshaft and a G series hilux lsd diff in the rear with soon to have torsion and pan hard bars.
Will put some pics up of my oil pan and pick up when I get round to taking the pan off again. In the pics you can see the oil return from the head, inside and out.
I would like more than 300hp at the wheels if the internals are up to it? All the mods Im doing now are with the intention of handling more power later on.
Currently looking at getting an evo 8 mr turbo. Cheap and good from what I have read. Thoughts?
Dont have the money right now for a fancy expensive turbo so thinking a good oem one for now will do.

Evolution MR aka "8.5" turbo
GSR = TD05HRA-16G6-10.5T (Ti Alloy option)
Nozzle Area (cm2) = 10.5
Compressor = Aluminium, 68mm wide

Any other tips or tricks you guys may have for me to apply to my engine?

Hope the photos work.
That intake plenum in the photos is my old one. New one will be better.
