So guys,

I've got a weird issue with my car that I've never experienced before. I was out and about - normal business - I hadn't taken my car anywhere I haven't taken her a thousand times before. I'm parallel parking when I hear an unsettling clunk from the passenger side. My first thought is maybe tie rods or ball joint. Luckily I have a friend with me, so I get out and have him crank the wheel left and right while I peek in the wheel well. Everything was fine with the tie rods and ball joint.... so I shift my eyes up and my spring is rotating, or rather, hopping when the wheel is turned. It hops about 10-15 degrees within the circle of the shock perch.
What could randomly cause this to happen? I understand a big bump in the road or something foreign to the car like that, but as I said, nowhere I haven't driven my car a thousand times. I'm going to rent a set of spring compressors so I can investigate a little more clearly but I wanted to see what you all thought, too.

A note, it seems to happen on the road, too. I can turn left fine, but if I turn too far to the right, I hear the clunk and the spring hopping like that throws my alignment off and she starts pulling right. As soon as I crank hard enough left, the spring seats properly again and my alignment is restored. This is the weirdest thing...

hmmm that is an odd issue. Something went awry with the spring or perch methinks. Yeah I agree that it might need to be popped off for further inspection. Itll show some more when it not under the weight load

Yeeep. Unfortunately it's raining here in NM, so I likely won't get to do much until tomorrow. Funnily enough, I'm moving to a place with a garage in only a week. Life has great timing, no?

I'll update on here with what I find. The spring didn't pop out of its perch at all... that's why I'm stumped. It's just sitting on rubber in there. Maybe the rubber tore? We'll see soon enough.
