I need to start thinking about replacing the oem stereo and speakers in my 95 Celica. Everything is stock original as far as I know, and amazed it has lasted this long, but it's slowly failing. I have looked for the answer in other sites, but nothing concrete about speaker sizes needed and head unit/shelf options. Mine has the sub, and mid in the door with the mini tweet below the mirror. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm fairly sure the bottom speaker is 6.5" too, but an 8 can fit with modification. Speakers are personal preference since so many are available. To power them, look for a receiver with high RMS wattage. 4 channels @ 50w doesn't mean anything as it's mostly a theoretical max output. RMS wattage is the steady capacity that the head unit amp can produce, and that is what really powers your speakers. Lower end brands do 14w RMS, best is 22. I like Kenwood.

Use Crutchfield.com to configure a setup. Then buy cheaper elsewhere.
