I need to start thinking about replacing the oem stereo and speakers in my 95 Celica. Everything is stock original as far as I know, and amazed it has lasted this long, but it's slowly failing. I have looked for the answer in other sites, but nothing concrete about speaker sizes needed and head unit/shelf options. Mine has the sub, and mid in the door with the mini tweet below the mirror. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Most top brands are 17-22W RMS these days per channel, but really I'd look more towards a head unit with 6 channel RCA output so then you can properly power everything and you get more flexibility. Most component speaker sets are in the 60-100W RMS range, and most woofers you'd want to use are in the 200-300W RMS range. I was thinking they were 8's in the bottom but they very well could be 6.5" too, maybe it's just because everyone goes to 8" is why I'm thinking that. Either way brands are mostly preference, but in my opinion you should go with someone like Pioneer, Infinity, Sony, Kenwood, etc... and stay away from brands like PYLE, BOSS, DUAL, etc...
