i plan to install keyring light assembly. i know usdm one is just plug&play. my question is, if i get jdm one(ordering from japan) which has the same part number(81870-20040), would i get the same product? i'm a bit concerned that connector and such might be slightly different.

Even if it is not it is just two wires, you can simply cut and use some generic plugs. My car didn't even have the ring in the first place, but the power is still there at a plug on the back side of the fuses.

i bought a used one from one of our members here and it came with a harness and metal ground wire as shown in the pic below. the bulb housing is connected to a black box and semi translucent cylindrical part that are attached to the harness. i have read about 'joining two wires' to install the keyring light, but mine is not just two wires. i also heard that the keyring assembly can be plug&play for usdm. i'm wondering where the female connector is located for the harness. maybe in the door panel?
