Hey Guys I'm new this forum and I don't know much about cars but I want to learn.
A couple of months ago I bought my first car a white 1998 Toyota Celica SX exterior has a couple of scatches but still good and interior is very good just a little worn. So long story short I started hearing this noise in the engine, so I had one of my Dad's mechanic look at the car and service it he told me it was the crankshaft can't really remember what he said after that because his accent was a little thick but basically he said I'd get a year or two out of the car and in that time the engine would die. So in my town of Darwin there isn't many 6gen Celicas there is about 6 on the street. I was wondering where the best place is to get a new engine I need a 5SFE or is there a different engine I should get. I'm hoping to eventually Turbo charge my Celica and turn it into something what has some good speed to it to match how it looks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading. |

The Celica's 5sfe is the same motor that is in all of the 4cyl Camry's from at least '90-99, there are lots of those around no matter where you go.
If you want to upgrade to a 3sgte it's more work than just slapping the motor in. There are lots of threads and how-to's in the Engine forum. -------------------- Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.
