Helo all: I noticed drips in the driveway and looked underneath only to find the driver side axle seal is leaking from where the axle goes into the gearbox. My car is 1996 Celica Hatchback ST. 7AFE engine. Is this something that can be done at home? I have never replace the axle before. Any help or link to someone who has done it here would be nice. I do have the factory Service manual.
Thank You in Advance. msk |

it's not too bad but the right tool definitely helps. I did it myself with some air tools and pry bars.
you can rent a slide hammer from most auto parts stores as well. -------------------- ![]() *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |
