 Downshifting an automatic, Is it bad? |

Somebody told me that downshifting in an automatic is bad for the transmission because it forces it or something.... I have never heard this and I don't know why the manufacturers would let you do it if it's bad for the car. Any ideas on whether this is fact or fiction?

When you mash the gas pedal to the floor it down shifts for you doesnt it? Thats one thing I hate about driving my sisters car, I like to be able to give the car some gas without it going all crazy and shifting gears |
