arent the kyb's the same as the shocks on my celi cause if so.. why get them?

I just put my KYB's on but havent had the chance to drive withthem yet because my car is in the shop haveing a custom turbo put on. I was going to get the ones by C-one but i was told there to much and they wont handle the weather changes in canada or something like that thell seize up or something.
