So I am new to the Celica game and still green when it comes to the automotive field. (Backstory time) I bought a 94 Celica GT Coupe for 1200 pretty good steal for the condition that the paint and body were. But I knew I had to put some TLC into it for there was a leak from the oil pan and tapping/knocking noise from the engine as you accelerate. To get to the point I did a lot of maintenance to the vehicle but have left the engine alone till now. Had a friend who has more knowledge/experience when it comes to fixing and diagnosing vehicles. He heard the engine and said it was rod-knock. So to verify, I am adding motor honey to see if that's the problem. If it is anybody have an engine for sale or know what company makes rebuilt kits for a decent price? Appreciate the help thanks.

Thanks for the advice. As far as plans for it I was going to keep it for a year and then move on to another vehicle. But the little that I have driven it I have come to fall for it and decided to keep it long term. I was thinking of the beams swapping it but wasn't sure how complicated that would be. Such as will it bolt to the transmission of the 5sfe, motor mount be different things like that. If it came to rebuilding it I agree on doing it myself the kit. I have been looking for kits online and found that the kits were a good price. If it possible to do a beam swap without doing drastic changes to a short budget and I would like to drive my car as soon as possible. Now saying this I am ok spending a bit more than the regular price to build the engine. More likely I am going to keep the 5sfe engine(if the beams thing doesn't work out)but as I am keeping it I want to rebuild it to later take boost.

I'll keep you guys updated on what I end up doing.
expect a lot of question and I appreciate your guys help
