Somebody told me that downshifting in an automatic is bad for the transmission because it forces it or something.... I have never heard this and I don't know why the manufacturers would let you do it if it's bad for the car. Any ideas on whether this is fact or fiction?

Agreed with Aba, although i'm unsure of how much it would actually cost...everything can break and nothing's perfect.
Besides, I hope all cars don't have this...and I don't believe that all will. There are many exotic car companies as well as some of the higher up domestic and japanese vehicles that I doubt would get rid of the manual for the pure enjoyment of being able to use every limb while driving. I love being able to use my right shifting, right foot on the gas/brake...left foot ready to hit the clutch and the left arm kinda hanging out the window...**** what about the steering wheel...my teeth for that. -------------------- 95 Toyota Celica GT
