So...first post, total noob Q, but I just bought the car, so please cut me some slack.

I have just purchased an imported '95 JDM GT4, about 175Kkm on the clock, and shifting between gears feels really vague.
It may be that I just haven't driven it enough yet to get smooth and comfortable with the action, but do the bushings or bearings in the stick-base wear out?
Is it something that requires a lot of digging?

I'm a good and competent mech on motorcycles, but don't have much car-work experience outside normal upkeep.
Any info would be appreciated.

rear motor mount on ST202 either 3sge of 5sfe tend to wear out within 36000 miles. this will cause misshifts and difficult to shift. also check the cables. the ST (7afe) and ST205 use the same cables. will i know e56 transmission and C56 use the same shift cables. i can imagine e154 must be the same cables. check part numbers.

i had cables so frayed that only 1st 3rd and 5th gear worked. i remember pushing my car in reverse to get outta places for like a month straight. it was torture.

there are poly replacement pushing for the cables themselves. good luck.
