So...first post, total noob Q, but I just bought the car, so please cut me some slack.
I have just purchased an imported '95 JDM GT4, about 175Kkm on the clock, and shifting between gears feels really vague. It may be that I just haven't driven it enough yet to get smooth and comfortable with the action, but do the bushings or bearings in the stick-base wear out? Is it something that requires a lot of digging? I'm a good and competent mech on motorcycles, but don't have much car-work experience outside normal upkeep. Any info would be appreciated. |

OP: Start with shifter bushings If that doesn't help, and/or your gear selector ON the trans has excessive play, you should replace the "Sugar Cube" After that, I would look at the shifter cables, THEN get to more labor intensive work.... -------------------- ~bloodMoney
