Having just bought a 1995 Celica GT I am having problems opening the filler flap.
On pulling on the release cable I heard a snap & sound's like the cable or the plastic lever has broke. Till I get round to fitting a new cable or lever does anyone know of any way that I can open it so that I can fill it up with fuel. Cheers in advance. |

I've finally sorted it out.
Remove front seat, remove trim so that you can pull back the carpet, the filler flap release & the boot (trunk) release are attached together on a bracket, the bracket is bolted to the body by one bolt, undo bolt & pull out the mechanism, fix mechanism then put in back in place. The trouble with mine was that the spring had come off as there is a spring for each lever,I put back the spring, returned it all to it's original position, pulled the lever & hey presto it worked. I only bought the car on Friday & it was low on fuel, I thought I'd never be able to fill it up. Anyway I thought that I would post this in case anybody else had this problem in the future. ![]() |
