Its all about sounding them out in person, and knowing what the purpose of the system is....i.e, really low lows, punch, nice sound or keeping the neighbors up, etc. This would be MY reccomandation which fulfills just about any purpose you could think of.
For a good balance of SQ, SPL's, and value, i would have to reccomend getting 2 10" Polk MOMO subwoofers and a Phoenix Gold amp that can deliver at least 300 watts RMS x 2....or, get a 4 channel amp and bridge those together to power the 2 subs. Also a power cap on the amp will help keep sound output consistent. I have a 10" Polk MOMO in my car right now, and the balance of punch and sound quality is awesome. It handles power effortlessly, and sounds much larger than any other 10" sub ive ever heard and it has great flex and durability when its turned up high. Not to mention it looks great too, and its only like 120 a speaker. Cant go wrong there. ![]() -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |
