the title of the post reads 3s-ge from a RS200 altezza i kno that 3sge engines came in celicas, but the 3sge from an rs200 altezza is in a rwd configuration. the transmission is not the only difference between a celica 3sge and a altezza 3sge. yes, the altezza exhaust manifold will have to be switched with one from a celica 3sge but its more than just that most likely the accessories are mounted in a way favorable for a longitudal mounting of the engine, which may not give room for a motor mount when you take the engine and swap it into a fwd application. http://www.billzilla.org/3sgonstand.jpg note how the alternator would be on the opposite side, possibily close to hitting the power steering rack, or maybe even in the way of the axel that would power the passenger side wheel http://www.billzilla.org/ae3sgecover.jpg and look at the intake manifold, it faces the oposite direction as a celica 3sge, and not only that, the TB is a lot lower, which, when a 3s block is in a celica, the engine leans back towards the firewall. this would make for an awkward intake setup, which could be solved by using a celica 3sge intake manifold, but that only makes the parts list longer so far from what i can tell, new accessories and their mounting brackets will be needed, along with celica 3sge engine mounts, a celica 3sge exhaust manifold and a celica 3sge intake manifold to make intake plumbing easier and better routed like i said, not the easiest swap, a lot of parts sourcing is required, perhaps even fabrication. its a lot like buying just a 3sgte and trying to swap it into an ST This post has been edited by 97sccelica: Apr 4, 2004 - 4:23 AM -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition
