I am about to begin my quest into swapping the celica. My first thought was to get the 3s-gte like everyone else and laugh at every civic that comes my way. hahahaha. But that would be the easy way out. i want to be able to kill other racers without going turbo. so i was thinking about the 3S-GE. Beams if possible to obtain. i wanna know if this engine has a chance against the GSR engines.

Personally i think the 3SGE is a waste of time and money. Reasons:
1. 3SGE maxes out at 170ish bhp. Afriend of mine has invested a lot and has it now at 197bhp 2. 3SGE beams is at a bout 200bhp. But there aren't alot of things you could do with that for more power. Some mods (induction kits) that exist are very pricey without that much gain. So the best solution i have heard so far is to use the ST205 engine block but go with a ST185 turbo setup like Neverstop is planning to do. |
