well my check engine light came on so to make a long story short i found out i need an air temp sensor, what happens if i drive around with this broken, any short or long term damage. how much can this cost to get fixed?

how did you find out that, thats what you need?, cause for somereason, when i just took out my cra this morn, my light came on.
