70k miles with no previous problems running premium gas boost is at 4-5 psi i havent had a problem since the install last thursday, knocking was always 0-3, but recently it has spiked up to 20 at times. i was wondering if it was normal, and if not, how i can fix it. thanks -------------------- ![]() |

More importantly, what base timing are you running and when do you get the knock? Is it only at WOT or idling? Its normal for me to see values in the 8-13 range when the engine is really warmed up and is idling. I think its just hearing some of the internal noise of the engine with 130k of wear on it. Its not actually knocking at idle.
I would try dialing back the timing some, if it goes away, then it was actually knock and you probably had a bit too much timing in it. Also, when did you calibrate the knock monitor? The engine has to be really warm when you do it. I would say at least 30 minutes at highway speeds. |
