Ok i am defently will be doing a 185 swap soon.

But i would like to know ways to improve this engine for more power so far ive came up with this

AMF to MAP sensor conversion.
Upgrade turbo with a ct20b to ct26 or a t3/t4
FMIC instead of the TMIC
3" down pipe
increase boost
upgrade fuel pump

that what ive came up with so far. Now i really want to replace the internals with better ones'

Does any one have any more options of how todo this? like where to get better pistion, rod's and etc..

Also if any one has more ways to improve this engine please share

Thanks

You cant just swap an AFM for a Map...ur either going to have to go stand-alone ECU for that, or your going to have to convert to an ST205 ECU. How to do that swap, im not sure. The CT20b is a good upgrade, it'll run you about 600-900 for a good turbo. Or buy a used CT26 and rebuild upgrade it. It'll end up costing about the same.

FMIC to TMIC...kinda doesnt convince me. You dont need a huge IC...and with the FMIC you will get better cooling affect but ur lag will be increased. The downpipe will help flow and de-cat everything. Emissions tests wont like you tho.

Increasing boost...depends on your turbo. On the CT26 your have boost cut around 12-13psi. So becareful with that, disengage it. The CT26 wont boost more than 15 and even thats pushing it. If you increase the size of ur turbo, you can boost less pressure and get equal power.

If you get a fuel pump you probably will want to get a SAFC and some dyno time. The dyno is ur friend. And remember your upgrading your stock fuel pump...so getting a stronger fuel pump isnt a huge upgrade since your running bigger injectors.

With your internals...unless your boosting more than 25psi your really not going to need stronger internals. The 3s is a very strong reliable engine and unless ur looking for big power (400hp) your probably not going to need to do this. Unless of course they are in sorry shape and were beat on the life of the car.
