I am going to produce a limited edition fiberglass side skirt for the 6th gen Celica.
It will be based off of the veilside/vis invader side skirt, but will have a air intake molded into the rear of it that will have the option of forcing air into the rear wheel well, thus cooling the rear brakes by cirrculating more air in the wheel well. The side skirts will come a with mesh grill insert that can be changed to match any other grills you may have. There will be a few other minor changes added. These side skirts will be molded for a perfect fit... unlike the vis side skirt that need alot of modifications to fit correctly Info: Estimated cost: $350-400 for the set. 5 layer molded fiberglass. Preped and primered. Molded mounting brakets for mesh grill. Mesh grill is included. Tubing for funcional side skirts only. Diagrams for cutting to fit tubing. Hardware for mounting. Approx weight: 5lbs each Prototype designs will be availble soon. These side skirts will be a limited edition only, I am planning on making ten sets and possibly more depending on demand. I will NOT ship two sets within 300 mile of each other... That way they will be as close to one of a kind as possible. This way you won't drive down the street and see another Celica with these sideskirts. I am also planning on developing a front and rear air dam for the 6th gen. I want to see how well the side skirts go over before I produce the front and rear. I would like to have at least 10 sets preordered before I start to produce them. I do not need the cash up front. Money will be collected prior to shipping. If you have questions or comments regarding this you can contact me via email. okay I finally talked my friend with 5th gen into lettin me borrow his car for a day... had to let him take my civic though... that sucked cuz I REALLY didnt want it drivin this time a year...expessially by him... but newayz.
I drove up to my car and took off one of the sideskirts and tried to put it onto the 5th gen... guess what.. it didnt fit..... and thats really good news!!!! the 5th gen side is about 1/2 inch longer than the 6th gen... what that means is the 5th gen sideskirt is gonna fit onto the side of the 6th gen no prob. there will be a gap of about a 1/4 inch on both sides of the side skirt...even though I think it would be better to match up the rear side flush and then fill in the front... newayz the side of the car which I though was gonna be a problem I know dont think will be.. maybe just a few little minor things to change... I really think that, from lookin at the 5th and 6th gen sides and havin the side skirt to work with, the 5th gen invader sideskirts are pretty much gonna fit about as well as the 6th gen ones do and they will have the part that comes up and scoops around...I should have them in in just a few days and will go back up to my car and check it out for sure but I really think that you guys would be better off just ordering the 5th gen sideskirts and fittin them either yourselves or having a shop do it... its going to cost you guys less in the long run... as much as I hate to pass up a chance to make some $ I think this will be your better option.. when I get the side skirts in I will let you guys know what I think will work and what wont. regardless I am still going to make atleast the piece that will fit into the side of the car to make the scoop functional. I will keep you guys posted about this as soon as I figure stuffout. thanks NEVERSTOP -------------------- ![]() 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |
