well to check for fuel.. you can pressure test the fuel line to make sure your getting pressure, you will also want to check to make sure the fuel injectors are pulsing, easiest way to do this is to touch the injectors and have someone turn the key to the car on/engine off postion. you shoud feel a vibration directly in the injector. another thing you might want to do is go and purchase a NOID light from autozone or some place like that. you will need to unplug the wire connecter on the injectors and plug in the noid light to that then try and turn over the car.. the noid light will flash on and off and that will tell you if your injectors are fireing or not. to check for spark easiest way is to 1st undo the distributor cap and they and turn over the car.. check to make sure that the needle is moving at about 1 rmp per second or so.. every car is a little differnt but that is a decent base to go by. also make sure that its not too corroded or nething. if everything looks fine then hook the distributor cap back on and take out your sparkplugs one at a time, once you get the plug out connect it back to the wire and touch the end of it to something metal under the hood.. valve cover or exhaust manifold works good for this, then have someone turn over the car.. if you see a spark then the plug is firing.. check condition of the plug if its nasty repalce it. repeat this for all 4 plugs. If all this checks out then its either a air problem or a sensor is bad or your just missing something. I would check to make sure that the O2 sens is good. also might wanna check the cataliytic to make sure its not gummed up.. it prolly wont be cus the cat is HUGE on the 3sgte but theres always a possiblity... easiest way to check if the exhaust system is plugged up is to have some one turn the car over while you put your hand over the exhaust tip... if you can feel the exhaust pushing you hand then its prolly fine. hope that helps man... also check the fuses... prolly not the prob but you never know ![]() -------------------- ![]() 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |
